Relief/Child Care Staff

Rate: $11.20 for relief, $14.25 for childcare per hour
Qualifications:
A commitment to the childcare field with a philosophy that is conducive to that of Muskoka Family Focus and Childrenīs Place
A current First Aid & C.P.R. certificate
Ability to work with a team
Duties and Related Tasks:
Relief staff will replace regular staff in After School Programs, Daycares or Early Years Centres as required (up to 7 hour shifts). Child care staff will care for children while their parents attend Parent Education Workshops (usually 2.5 hour shifts).
General clean-up for the Centre including kitchen
Assist with maintenance and program responsibilities
Assist with planning and implementation of activities for the children as required
Communicate with group teacher regarding problems, concerns, updates etc.
Assist in the implementation of individual program plans for specific children as required
Perform specific duties as assigned
Support and promote Muskoka Family Focus and Childrenīs Place Mission Statement and Centre goals and philosophy

Terms of Employment:
Status: Permanent Part-Time
Start Date: Week of September 6th, 2010
Hours: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm day of week to be determined (includes 1 hour set up and 1 hour take down), contingent upon ongoing attendance. Also, 15 minutes per day to assist with integrating EY Core Services into the program.
Actual hours of work may be subject to slight variation
Rate of Pay: $18.45 - 20.54 (five step scale)
Skill Requirements:
Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent and experience in a related field
Completion of the Food Handlerīs Course, or willing to complete it as soon as possible.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
A commitment to the childcare field with a philosophy that is conducive to that of Muskoka Family Focus and Childrenīs Place.
Knowledge of family dynamics and child development.
Knowledge of the community and resources.
Able to meet the physical demands of daily program set up and take down.
An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible, non judgmental, energetic, resourceful, creative and approachable.
Current First Aid and C.P.R. Certificate.
Good attendance record.
Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Medical Assessment, including immunizations and TB tests, on hiring and as required by Muskoka Family Focus and Childrenīs Place policies.
